Ascension weekend

Thursday, May 9 is Ascension Day, but at Batavia Stad we're just making a weekend of it! From Thursday, May 9 to Sunday, May 12, we are open extra long from 10:00 to 20:00. So do you have a day or a few days off? Then plan your day out at Batavia Stad!

The theme of this Ascension weekend is South Africa. That is why we are organizing the best extras and activities for this weekend especially for you in this theme.

South African barbecue

On Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 May, Herman den Blijker will visit Batavia Stad for a fun barbecue, or as they call it in South Africa: braai. Will you drop by to taste what Herman & team Goud make on the barbecue?

We can give away the appetizers Herman & his team will be making: prawn skewers, ribeye with bread and grilled vegetables. Sounds good? Then be sure to stop by!

You can find the barbecue at the La Place square, at noon and 3 pm.

South African Wine Tasting

Even better news, complementary to the braai with Herman den Blijker we will have a wine tasting! We have selected special South African wines that also go perfectly with the dishes Herman makes during the barbecue. Delicious red & white wines.

Will you come and taste too? Of course it's free for you if you participate in the South African braai.*

Live show about South African animals

Wildebras is coming to Batavia Stad and will tell you all about South African animals on Thursday, May 9 (Ascension Day). Stop by across from Calvin Klein & Lacoste and join the interactive show.

The live show is at noon and 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.

Safari Scavenger Hunt

Did you take a good look around while shopping with your parents? At different places in our Center you will find animal paws with a letter hidden. Can you find all the letters? Then you can fill in a word and earn a nice prize

Pick up a special fill-in card at the Information Centre, here you will also find some hints on where to find the letters. Have you collected the correct word? Then run back to the Information Centre to claim your prize.
